The AIATSIS Research Section publishes a range of material including:

- Discussion Papers – A series designed to contribute to the wide ranging discussions about current Indigenous issues and policies.
- Reference material such as Guidelines for Ethical Research in Indigenous Studies available in both hard copy through the Institute and electronically.
